lately i've been behind on all the latest releases music-wise. my girl 4 life hyori was on tv and apparently i missed it by like, a day, so i still haven't heard her latest single :'(

anyways this is yuna ito's new song. i am always gonna show love and respect for her, but to me she is sort of like a japanese mariah carey material-versus-talent wise. her ballads are solid and consistent but lack freshness and her uptempo songs run hot and cold. this song is actually imo one of her better uptempo songs but it still feels like new territory for her. her voice, i love it, but it's always a little too thick for hip hop songs like this; even in the chorus when her melody slows down a bit is the stand out part of the song.

if she feels more comfortable in slow songs then she should really stick to those and make that her "thing." she's doing a lot of experimenting which is good for a jpop artist, but it's sort of in the wrong place.

I've been rethinking my status on livejournal and what I really use this place for. Lately my entries have been about my personal life and what's really going on at my eye level, and I've kind of ditched this place as a way to rant off like a public blog.

So I was thinking of taking all the people who aren't watching my journal off my friends list, not because my life is "so cool" but I don't want to tell my innermost feelings and emotions to those who aren't listening.

So if you read my journal or are still interested in my personal life, please comment to this entry. I'll leave this here for a minute so people can all comment. You don't have to suck my dick you can just type "I want to stay on" even if you never comment or whatever.

TY ilu all. :*

KM-MARKIT - Bakayarow featuring VERBAL: I don't know, I like it. It's like Jennifer Lopez's Get Right meets some Will Smith song from the 90's. VERBAL really does not shine on this track, but I think he just throws projects away that aren't m-flo or teriyaki boyz. You know, I was gonna talk about TB and how Kanye West basically treated that collaboration like a joke, and I was gonna feel sorry VERBAL who has been on the scene for a long time and is pretty much the only famous MC in Japan, but then I hear this song and that song he did with Clazziquai, even after they did that really hot remix for m-flo's Beat Space Nine remix album, and I'm like w/e. I guess what goes around.../...comes around.

Speaking of Jenny Lo, I saw the Jennifer Lopez pics from the Golden Globes and wow, that is the best she has looked in a long time. I love her to my death but lately she has been looking frumpy, old, and married. I am so glad she decided to get a tan, put on her false eyelashes and re-enter the world.

Also, I know this gonna probably be run into the ground pretty soon but I really am so happy that Dots is doing new Endli material. Hopefully he doesn't release another album and then let it die like he did with his namesake solo project, because I would really be interested in watching this grow into something real. Forget the KinKi Kids because that nice friendly synth-ballad image doesn't fit him anymore. Also, I really did like Koichi's solo effort, even if I didn't talk about it. It was done well for the type of music it was supposed to be, and he can really have a personality on his own instead of being "the boring one." KinKi Kids needs to go out gracefully.
